Previously scanned work need not be lost because you have moved to a new document management software or provider.
File conversion or data conversion as it is sometimes more commonly known, consists of converted one file format to another more often than not to allow it to be either edited or imported in to a different system.
At McPhersons we have a vast array of software dedicated to doing just this. Mcphersons can help. We cover the whole of Scotland and North East England and in particular the following areas; Glasgow, Ayr, Dumfries, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Sirling as well as as far afield as Inverness, Aberdeen and Dundee. This has allowed our team to gain invaluable experience when converting files such as previously scanned tiff or pdf files to allow importing in to organisations new document management system allowing simple integration.
Scanned Work can be Imported in to Virtually any Document Management System
The majority of document management software require a data file which contains the indexing/ searchable data/meta data etc (CSV, excel, .Dat) along with the scanned files (Tiff, pdf etc) to allow for simple importing of files.
Using similar software, McPhersons are able to convert individual file formats to allow for editing. For example, pdf files can be converted to a standard MS word format to allow for full editing within the likes of Microsoft Word. Vice versa, Word, excel, jpegs, tiffs, AutoCad can all be converted to PDF format and with a data file if required.
We work closely with various bodies from IT departments, University lecturers to individual students to ensure scanned pdf files can be converted back to word format to allow for changes to be made.
This is very useful for Universities / students who use ‘similar’ lecture notes for several years, although require slight alterations every year.
