The Information and Records Management Society
This society is the foremost professional association for all those who work in or are concerned with records or information management, regardless of their professional or organisational status or qualifications. This is possibly the most important organisation within the field of Document Management. McPhersons have great pleasure in announcing we have been a member since 1972. Registration number is – 2000
In Scotland this is the equivalent to the English CRB Disclosure. A Disclosure is a document containing impartial and confidential criminal history information held by the police and government departments which can be used by employers to make safer recruitment decisions.
Disclosure information could include:
- Details of criminal records
- Information about a persons inclusion on children’s or adults’ lists
- Other relevant information held by a local police force or Government Body
All our staff go through disclosure Scotland back ground check and all sign confidentiality agreements on a yearly basis.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (Data Protection Act 1998)
The Information Commissioner’s Office is the UK’s independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals.
As McPhersons handle data in a number of ways, this is another essential body we are proud to be associated with. We have registered procedures which adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998, all our staff are aware of these and we keep the procedures up to date on regular basis.
